Chickpea Pesto

This is a mixture between pesto and hummus.

  • food processor


  • 1 bunch basil
  • ½ bunch Italian parsley
  • 1 c. cooked chickpeas
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ¼ c. cashews
  • 1 lime juiced
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp. nutritional yeast
  • pinch cayenne powder
  • 1 tsp. salt


  • Place the basil, cooked chickpeas, and garlic in the bowl of a food processor or blender. Process until coarsely ground.
  • Add the remaining ingredients.
  • Process for a minute or so, making sure that everything is well incorporated.
  • Taste it; you may need to add a little more salt according to your taste.
